Quick Summary:

In this SVR Cicavit Creme SPF 50 review, I have found the highest performing chemical UV filter based sunscreen tested to date! A brand new sunscreen lotion was sent to me from a reader who uses it for himself and was curious about its efficacy. I’m glad he sent it because I had never heard of the brand until he mentioned it (it’s French!).
This product also seems to serve not just a sunscreen purpose but a skin repairing one as well. The SVR product site claims that using the creme (in their very limited study of 20 volunteers) skin was “repaired” up to 7x faster. From what I gather though, they mention that filtering the suns UV rays and keeping them from damaging the skin is responsible for this dynamic (which makes sense). But couldn’t that be said if using any sunscreen? I’m not a dermatologist, but that seems to be a logical conclusion to make.
The SVR Cicavit Creme SPF 50 sunscreen lotion is a chemical based formulation which contains Diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate, Diethylhexyl butamido triazone, Bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine, Ethylhexyl triazone, which are UV filters not yet approved by the FDA.
The SVR Cicavit Creme SPF 50 sunscreen lotion blocked UVI by 99.87%, reduced UVA by 99.95%, and filtered UVB by 98.53%. Tip top scores for a new to me contender!

Testing notes:
The SVR product website was a bit tough to digest with tons of info “shot-gunned” onto the the page. Maybe because its French? What being French has to do with anything I don’t even know. But you know what, it’s cool, that’s what my website looks like…Anything for SEO and Pagerank right? SIGH. Anyhow, I now have a full tube of this fantastically effective sunblock which I’ll begin using once I’m finished with my other daily sunscreen.
Hmmmm, I wonder if it will feel as nicely as the one I’m using now…I wonder if there are other sunscreen sites on the internet that review the FEEL of a sunscreen. Just kidding, that’s all there is out there HA! Sorry to toot my own horn, but I think this sunscreen testing site is pretty gosh darn useful. Go me.
Go SVR!
Vive la France!
