In this ROUND LAB Birch Juice SPF50+ PA++++ sunscreen lotion review, I test a fantastically performing sunscreen…albeit with a catch (it dries out quickly).

The ROUND LAB Birch Juice PA++++ sunscreen is a chemical based formulation containing the active ingredients Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate, Ethylhexyl Triazone, Methylene Bis-Benzotriazolyl Tetramethylbutylphenol, and Diethylhexyl Butamido Triazone. I was not able to find the % content of the active ingredients however.

The ROUND LAB Birch Juice SPF50+ did a tremendous job filtering UVA by 99.94%, reducing UVB by 99.18%, and blocking total UVI by 99.89%. This is an exceptionally performing sunscreen. Good job Round Lab!

Testing notes:

I really like the tube design of this particular sunscreen and like the performance even more! The only thing which gives me pause is the major drying of the formulation. If you are using this product, please reapply often and evenly. I assume this would only be exacerbated during real world usage, but who knows…maybe the combination of face perspiration and moisture from the environment would aid in its integrity. Don’t take my word for it however.

A little note on the drying: You might see this for more Korean sunscreens, because summer is monsoon season. From personal experience I can say that the humidity is often so high that laundry left outside does not dry and any bills left in your pockets when out and about will feel as if you’d sprayed them with water mist by the end of the day. I imagine that plays a role in the formulation, though I have no real expertise in this area whatsoever!
