Pacifica Beauty Mineral Bronzing Body Butter SPF 50 sunscreen lotion

Quick Summary:

Date Tested: 08/19/2022

In this Pacifica Beauty Mineral Bronzing Body Butter SPF50 review, I test a mineral based sunscreen that at first glance looked like it wouldn’t perform very well, yet turned out to be a solid performer.

Ahhh Pacifica. No, not the sunscreen, but the city of Pacifica. Its right next to where I live and it reminds me of home. I grew up in a small white community called El Segundo which was surrounded by an oil refinery, airport, industrial buildings, and the ocean. It was a surfer community and had a real beachy feel to it, It was a good place to grow up I think.

Pacifica is very much like El Segundo, it is also a beach community. It has this really fancy Taco Bell on the beach which sells alcohol, many lovely hiking trails, and also has hills and hidden boutique shops that are pretty cute. Yes I said cute. If you haven’t been, I recommend checking it out for a day. Oh there’s also an “off the beaten path” walk that goes behind Soul Grind and overlooks the old original beach houses and ocean there. Sipping coffee and watching the kayakers and surfers do their thing overlooking the old houses is very relaxing.

Here is a picture from that path looking towards the ocean (cant see the neat houses though)

Lets get back to the review though. The Pacifica SPF 50 Bronzing Body Butter Coconut sunscreen lotion is a mineral based formulation which contains Zinc Oxide at 22.0%. Quite a high concentration. The Zinc Oxide appears to be tinted a bronze color.

As for test results, the Pacifica Beauty Mineral Bronzing Body Butter Coconut sunscreen lotion blocked UVI by 92.96%, reduced UVA by 93.10%, and filtered UVB by 90.54%. Respectable results for a mineral based sunblock formulation.

Testing notes:

IMO, the product tube design looks a bit like those fancy wallpapers that you can buy to paper one wall of your house. Its eye catching but a bit busy. Its ok though because it’s what’s in the tube that matters. This sunscreen performed well and has a tinted look to it for those who are looking for that.

My verdict? I recommend using this Pacifica Mineral Bronzing Body Butter SPF50 sunscreen, and maybe one can even use it in…Pacifica?

“Get a life Adrian!” NEVER.
