The Hawaiian Tropic Sheer Touch SPF 30 sunscreen lotion is the higher SPF rated product from the same line of ultra radiance sunscreen lotions from Hawaiian Tropic. Since almost everything related to marketing is identical to the Hawaiian Tropic Sheer Touch SPF 15 ultra radiance sunscreen lotion, ill keep this short. Just read the other review for the sheer loquacity of it all.
The Hawaiian Tropic Sheer Touch SPF 30 is a chemical based sunscreen using the chemical UV filters of Avobenzone (2.2%), Homosalate (7%), and Octocrylene (4.2%). This is an unusual % of ingredients in my opinion. This must be deliberate to achieve some goal.
The results after 2 hours of testing however turned out to be not meh as the Hawaiian Tropic Sheer Touch SPF 30 only reduced UVI by 70.92%, UVA by 71.27%, and UVB by 65.08%.
But then again, maybe this line of sunscreen products are meant for tanning? Maybe I need to contact Hawaiian Tropic to really understand these results. *”Adrian to computer” – Note – Talk to people about functional sunscreen protection…tanning function? If confirmed that makes sense why the UV filtering abilities are lower…

The Sheer Touch ultra radiance SPF 30 seemed to spread a bit unevenly as evidenced by the markedly thinner center area layer. Formulation might be too thin.

Ultraviolet light quick reference:
UVA: The Ultraviolet wavelength from 315nm – 400nm. The “Aging UV light” – Causes wrinkles.
UVB: The Ultraviolet wavelength from 280nm – 315nm. The “Bad UV light” – Causes skin cancer.
UVI: The global sun UV index. The more a sunscreen can reduce the level of UVI, the better.

Testing notes:
Want a tan without getting burned? This product should do this for you. Just make sure to reapply often. On second thought, while laying there, please also call Hawaiian Tropic and ask them if this sunscreen lotion formulation is functionally tuned to get a tan but without burning. Then after you get the answer, shoot me an email and let me know if they had this in mind when concocting their magical UV blocking potion.
