Eucerin Face Gentle Protection Daily SPF 30 sunscreen lotion

Quick Summary:

Date Tested: 6/25/2024

In this Eucerin Face Gentle Protection Daily SPF 30 sunscreen lotion review, I am disappointed by another poor performing Eucerin product. Thanks again to Julian for providing me this sunscreen to test!

The Eucerin Face Gentle Protection Daily SPF 30 sunscreen lotion is a hybrid based formulation using the active ingredients of Ensulizole at 2.0%, Octinoxate at 7.5%, Octisalate at 4.5%, Titanium Dioxide at 2.4%, and Zinc Oxide at 4.8%. I believe this is the first sunscreen formulation that I have tested with Ensulizole. Since the time of testing to me writing this post, it also looks as if Eucerin has changed the formulation as the listed inactive ingredients on their website has changed, and the product label is also slightly different. Hopefully the new formula is better, as this one is atrocious.

The results from testing show the Eucerin Face Gentle Protection Daily SPF 30 sunscreen is particularly bad at reducing UVA by blocking only 43.00%, filtering UVB by 37.33%, and filtering total UVI by 42.70%. Meh. Skip. Stop reading, just don’t buy.

Eucerin Face Gentle Protection Daily SPF 30 sunscreen lotion characteristics at a glance:

  • Blah blah blah, don’t care, don’t use this sunscreen.
  • Viscosity is very low.

Prepared slide BEFORE testing

The Eucerin Face Gentle Protection Daily SPF 30 sunscreen lotion has a very low viscosity. It distributed very unevenly when exposed to the pressure of the magnetic vice. I would assume this formula would not apply evenly on the face as well.
