Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protector Wet Force SPF 50 sunscreen lotion

Quick Summary:

Date Tested: 09/10/2022

In this Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protector Wet Force SPF 50 review, I encounter one of the ugliest product bottles I have ever seen, yet the performance of the goo inside proved that one should never judge a book by its cover.

The version of the Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protector SPF 50 I tested is a hybrid sunscreen which incorporates both chemical (organic) and physical (inorganic) UV filters. It contains Octinoxate 7.4%, Octocrylene 3.0%, Titanium Dioxide 1.4%, and Zinc Oxide 16.4%. The newer version of the same product however is an all chemical based formulation bearing a Synchoshield designation (the one I tested does not have this), but I have not had the chance to test it yet.

The Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protector reduced UVI by 99.36%, filtered UVA by 99.48%, and blocked UVB by 97.46%. Extremely high protection!

Testing notes:

I don’t know what to make of the marketing decisions Shiseido made on this particular sunscreen. They must know what they’re doing though… The product packaging is ugly, the name ‘wet force’ is weird to me, and the moniker ‘Sun Protector’ reminds me of a Japanese superhero action show. Whatever my opinions though, this product really whips the llamas ass (meaning, its great!).

I recommend. May the wet force be with you.
