Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Rice + Probiotics SPF50 PA++++ sunscreen lotion

Quick Summary:

Date Tested: 08/18/2022

I am the weakest link. 9 days ago I tested positive for Covid and since then, my entire family of three kids and one wife have subsequently followed in my footsteps and also tested positive. I suppose my son doesn’t really count since as soon as all four of us confirmed infected with Covid, he threw off his mask in FOMO and huffed our droplets so he wouldn’t be the loner. We are all doing fine now, but still have the lingering post nasal drip coughs.

Was going out for a few drinks in the city worth getting Covid? Yes and no. No because Covid sucks, Yes because sometime in October were all going on a trip to the Maldives, so I suppose catching the Covid is a blessing (since immunity) provided we don’t get infected with other strains. Instead of a restricting N95 mask on the airplane, maybe we just do surgical masks…or dare I say it, no masks at all!

Anyways, the reason I mentioned being the weakest link is that protection from one thing or another always tends to depend on the weakest link. As they say, you’re only as strong as your weakest link. In the case of sun protection, this is true as well. If ones sun protection regimen involves just sunblock, then the weakest link would be the sunblock. However, if one incorporates other things into the regimen such as hats, UPV clothing, and sunglasses, the weakest link could be something else. You get what i’m saying…

Either way, its always good to know what the weakest link is.

In this Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Rice + Probiotics SPF50 review, rest assured this sunscreen is not the weakest link…provided it doesn’t dry out prematurely in real world usage.

Prepared slide ready for testing

The Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun SPF 50 applied evenly and dispersion coverage looked great when the slide sample was prepared. However, after 2 hours of testing, the sample dried out considerably. I would expect the sunscreen to leave almost a powdery residue on the skin after a few hours. The image shown is the slide sample after 2 hours of testing. The tendency to dry out is concerning.

Below are the results from 2 hours of testing in my UV testing station.

Testing notes:

Because I have not used this particular sunscreen, I am unable to confirm real world performance in environments where excessive evaporation may occur. If evaporation of the lotion did not occur, I believe this sunscreen would protect well against the suns ultraviolet radiation. Based on my testing, would I trust it in an everyday situation? Most likely not since it seems that it evaporates too readily. Despite this tendency, the results do speak for itself, so yes this sunscreen gets my seal of approval.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

4 stars. One less star because of its tendency to evaporate. Does block UV well.
